Jack: I'm a police officer.

Fiona: Wirklich? Das muss ja aufregend sein!
Fiona: Really? That must be exciting!

Jack: Naja, nicht immer. Es gibt immer viel Papierkram zu erledigen.
Jack: Well, not always. There is a lot of paperwork to do.

Fiona: Wie lange sind Sie schon Polizist?
Fiona: How long have you been a police officer?

Jack: Mehr als 20 Jahre.
Jack: More than 20 years.

---

Fiona: Das ist eine lange Zeit. Hat Ihr Beruf Sie persönlich geändert?
Fiona: That's a long time. Has your job changed you personally?

Jack: Ja. Ich trinke Alkohol jetzt nur noch in Maßen, weil ich gesehen habe wie viele Menschenleben dadurch zerstört worden sind.
Jack: Yes. I only drink alcohol in moderation now, because I've seen how many people's lives have been destroyed because of it.

Fiona: So schlimm?
Fiona: So bad?

Jack: Ja, leider! Man würde wahrscheinlich nur halb soviele Polizisten ohne Alkohol benötigen.
Jack: Yes, unfortunately! You probably could cut the police force by half if it weren't for alcohol.

Fiona: Ich glaube dann nehme ich lieber den alkoholfreien Mojito!
Fiona: I guess I get the non-alcohol Mojito then!
